On 19th September 1994 the foundation for the first degree college in Bhayandar was laid in the metropolitan area of Mira-Bhayandar with the population of 8 lacs, there was a great need of a degree college. Considering this need Mr.Rohidasji Shankar Patil an active corporator took an decided to start a degree college. Mr. Rohidas Patil, who has gained fame in social , educational and political field, was touched by when he noticed the inconvenience caused to the students in Mira-Bhayandar.

To start with a four storeyed Building he had to undergo many critical situations. But this lion hearted man never took a step back and overcome all the problems and has formed beautiful premises of “SHREE SHANKAR NARAYAN COLLEGE OF ARTS, COMMERCE AND SELF FINANCE COURSES” upto degree level. Late Mr. Shankar Narayan Patil, Father of the founder Mr. Rohidasji Patil has always been a great inspiration for him. Hence when the idea to form an educational organization arose in his mind he named it in the memory of his late father as Shree Shankar Narayan Education Trust.

The Trust Started the Arts and Commerce College Affiliated to University of Mumbai in the year 1994-95 with B.A and B.Com. and the junior college from 1999-2000. Both have made steady progress since their inception and have succeeded in getting permanent affiliation to Degree College from the University Of Mumbai. College has awarded B++ grade by National Assessment & Accreditation Council, Banglore. The College has maintained 85% results in academics. Participation in extra curricular activities has brought recognition to the institute. The Trust has also started MMS/MBA College in the name of Rohidas Patil Institute Management Studies

With so much experience and success in the past years , the management started a First Polytechnic in the name of Pravin Patil College Of Diploma Engineering And Technology which has fulfilled a long felt need for higher technical education in this area. The Government of Maharashtra has granted permission vide G.R No.PTI 2001 (182/02) TE -2 dated 9th July 2002,DTE letter No.2/NGP/2002/2131 dt.23 “August 2002. And AICTE Letter No.418/EX/GEG/2002 dated 4th July 2002 to introduce the courses. Now this year as per new Education Policy, The Trust has taken a decision to convert diploma engineering into degree engineering.

Under the visionary leadership, The trust started, Pravin Rohidas Patil College Of Engineering And Technology from Academic Year 2023-2024. It is affiliated to the university of Mumbai, Recognized by DTE Maharashtra State and approved by A.I.C.T.E. New Delhi courses offered in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Planning, Electrical Engineering (Electronics and Power), Mechanical and Automation Engineering leading to undergraduate in engineering.
