Responsibilities of the Women’s Grievance Redressal Committee (WGRC):

1. Receive Complaints:

   • Accept and acknowledge complaints related to sexual harassment, gender discrimination, or any form of grievance faced by women employees or students.

2. Confidential Investigation:

   • Conduct fair, unbiased, and confidential inquiries into complaints, ensuring that both the complainant and the respondent are given a chance to be heard.

3. Preventive Measures:

   • Organize awareness programs, workshops, and sensitization sessions on gender equality, workplace/college safety, and legal rights.

4. Counseling and Support:

   • Provide emotional, psychological, and legal support to women facing harassment or discrimination.

5. Ensure Redressal:

   • Recommend necessary action based on the findings of the inquiry — this can include disciplinary action, mediation, or policy change.

6. Maintain Records:

   • Document all complaints, inquiry proceedings, actions taken, and outcomes securely and confidentially.

7. Report to Authorities:

   • Submit periodic reports to the institutional head or designated higher authority about the number and nature of grievances received and resolved.

8. Policy Recommendation:

   • Recommend changes to institutional policies and practices to promote a safer and more equitable environment for women.

9. Ensure Compliance:

   • Ensure adherence to legal frameworks such as the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

10. Encourage Reporting:

    • Foster a safe and non-threatening atmosphere where women feel confident to report grievances without fear of retaliation.
